International Women's Day celebrations was conducted on 08/03/2021 on the theme "Balance to Better". The following were invited as Chief Guests: Mrs. Rani, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Tirupattur, Dr. Sumathi, Gynecologist, Government Hospital, Tirupattur, Mrs. Christy Sujatha, Technical Writer, Chennai, Ms. Latha Munuswamy, Student Counsellor, Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur and Mr. Arul Doss, Family Counsellor, DB Centre. The programme began at 10.00 a.m. with a prayer song by Mr. D. Henston, Assistant Professor, Department of English (Shift-II). The chief guests, faculty members and the students were warmly welcomed by Dr. G. Devi, UG Head, Department of Commerce (Shift-II).

The dynamics of the day was presented by Dr. M. Saraladevi, Assistant Professor, Department of Tamil (Shift-II), Rev. Dr. K.A. Maria Arokiaraj, the Additional Principal, felicitated the gathering and released Sacred Heart Times. The panel discussion on questions raised by the students and parents were discussed with the chief guests. The answers illuminated the minds of the gathering. Various questions on gender equality, cultural superstitions, child marriage, women education, sexual harassment and women welfare were raised and discussed by the students, parents and the chief guests. Tamil poem with feminist thoughts were recited by Mr. Arivuchezhiyan followed by a virtual talk on independence of women by Mrs. Christy Sujatha.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs. S. Savitha, Dean of Women Cell, (Shift-II) the programme had its curtain down with College Anthem at 12.45 p.m. The celebration was a meaningful one and enhanced the notion towards women and their dignity.
