The Department of English, Shift-I organised an invited talk on English Literary Periods: Chaucer to 21^st Century on 11^th July, 2023 at 02:00 PM in Mother Teresa Hall. The event aimed to enlighten the students and to help them to know the importance of history of English literature and literary periods. The programme started with the invocation of God's blessings. Ms. Rojleen of II B.A. English hosted the programme. Ms. Supriya of II B.A. English welcomed the gathering. Mr.A.John Joseph, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Shift-I introduced the chief guest and honoured the chief guest with a memento. The chief guest Mr.V. Madhan Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of English (Shift-I), Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur delivered a talk on "English Literary Periods: Chaucer to 21^st Century". He presented the history of English literary periods from Chaucer to present century with major historical events, important writers, and their famous literary works. He motivated the students to read literary works as literature students. Ms. Abirami of II B.A. English proposed the vote of thanks.
