Student Annual Retreat
The Annual Spiritual Retreat of our Campus was well begun with the title KETPOOM 2018 with the journey of faith as a tag line. This title Ketpoom in tamizh means both to ask and to listen. John 16:24 was the key verse for this retreat. The preparation for this retreat was begun three months earlier by the group of Jesus Youth in our campus. With much of prayers and preparation we solemnly began the retreat on 5th July 2018 at Don Bosco Indoor stadium. Fr. Antonyraj SDB our Rector gave the inaugural address and the blessings to the participants. Fr. Mani Lazar SDB the Campus Minister explained the purpose behind this retreat.
The entire group was divided into three. The first group (UG 1st year) was animated by Fr. Mani Lazar SDB at Carreno Hall. The second group (UG 2nd & 3rd year, PG 1st & 2nd year) was animated by Jesus Youth Campus Ministry Youth team of 18 who came from various parts of South India. The Third group (English Speaking Students) was also animated by Jesus Youth. Holy Eucharist and Adoration were together and all the other sessions were animated separately in their respective groups. There was a good and active participation in the sacrament of reconciliation and counseling on the second day. Most of the resident Salesians and other guest Priests were present on this day to assist the participants at the confessional. The Oasis hall was temporarily converted into very beautiful Adoration Chapel. Large number of participants did visit this chapel and spent a qualitative time with the Author of Life in personal prayer.
During the common Holy Eucharist, many of the participants shared their divine experience with all, through their personal testimonies. All those who had this mystical experience, wanted this experience to be followed up in the coming days, through regular prayer meetings, monthly recollection and night vigils in our campus. Thus the campus culture of Primacy of God was nurtured in the hearts of our youngsters, hoping that these youngsters will turn out to be the leaven in the society where ever they are.
Thank you and have a blessed day.
Rev.Fr. Mani Lazar SDB
