Event Details

Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur District, every year recognizes young inventors and introduces their work to the society. The event SHYIA for 2021 was held on Saturday, 20.3.2021 at the Kamarajar Arangam in the College.

The inaugural function was graced by the Dr. John Alexander, Rector & Secretary, of Sacred Heart College, Rev. Dr. D. Maria Antony Raj, Principal of Sacred Heart College, Dr. R. Jaya Santhi, the Principal of Auxilliam College, Vellore, Prof. Bhattacharya, the Head of the VIT Business School, Vellore. The event was blessed by Prof. T. Ramasamy, Former Secretary, Science and Technology, Government of India. 

A total of 71 new discoveries were exhibited this year in two categories as research processes and research products.  Of these, 32 were from the Process and 39 from Product.  A panel of experts examined these and selected the best ones. Prizes and certificates were awarded to the winners.  The following were the prize winners:

The first prize for  innovative process was given to  N. Moulieswaran for Literature and Languages, from Sacred Heart College for his invention on "Deploying Artificial Intelligence - powered Google Assistant for Self-driven Language Acquisition. “The Second Prize was given to Siddhartha Babu, from the Department of Life Sciences for his invention on Smart Lamp Post. The third prize was given to R. Magdalene, Monica, B. Brinsha, Sherine, M. Hepzhibah Martina,  R. Amreen Thabasum.

First Prize in Product was given to S. Nivetha, S. Nathiya, G. Paviya, R. Elevarasu, and V. K. Pavithra from the Department of Life Sciences, for "Concentrated Fodder in Enhancing House Milk Quality", The second prize was given to V. Hariprasath from the Department of Computer Science and the third prize was given to M. Nivetha, J. Hephzibah, S. Keerthana, S. Kiruthiga.  Consolation prizes were given to ten best process and product invention.

The event concluded with the valediction at 4.00 p.m. in the Kamarajar Arangam. Rev. Dr. Praveen Peter, the Vice Principal (Admin, Shift-I) & COE, welcomed the judges, the organizers and participants. Rev. Dr. K.A. Maria Arokiaraj, Additional Principal, Shift-II, felicitated the gathering with his words of appreciation to the innovators. It was followed by comments from the judges. Dr. Jaisanthi, Principal of Auxilliam College congratulated the participants. Prof. Bhattacharya, the Head of VIT Business School, Vellore, encouraged and motivated the participants for their inspiring efforts. The participants were welcomed to give their feedback about the event.

The IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) cell of the college arranged for the patenting of the best inventions.  The event was organized and coordinated by Rev. Dr. G. Theophil Anand Vice Principal, (Admin Shift-II), Dr. V. Collins Arun Prakash, PG Head, Department of Chemistry and was assisted by faculty from different departments.
