The National virtual workshop on “How to Convert the Projects into Patent” was held on 12th January 2021.  This seminar was organized mainly to create the post graduate students and research scholar who carryout project works as a part of their curriculum. Dr. A. Royal Edward Williams, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics was the convener of the conference. The programme started with a prayer song coordinated by Dr. A. Prabu, Assistant Professor, Department Tamil followed by welcome address by Dr. V. Collins Arun Prakash, IPR Cell Member and PG Head, Department of Chemistry, Sacred Heart College, (Autonomous), Tirupattur. He invited the participants and the resource person Dr. Preetham Balakrishnan, Assistant Professor, Tamil Nadu Law University, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. In the first half, she gave the basic idea of IPR, difference between novel and trivial, things which cannot be patented and can be patented.  In the second half of her lecture, she concentrated on how an ordinary idea could be performed innovatively and how that can be patented. There were 101 participants including M.Sc., students as well as research scholars participated and benefited by this workshop. This workshop was so much of help to the faculty members, research scholars and students of Sacred Heart College as well as other colleges throughout India.
