| Starting with the UG programme in the autonomous mode in 1988,the PGDCSA was added in 1991, Self-funded UG programme in 1998, MCA in 1998 and M.Phil in 2004 and MSc.Computer Science in 2005. |
| This department leads the college in offering the use of ICT to its students through the DMT, Presentation Hall and CBT. The department has a separate placement cell which offers special training programmes for its students and gives career guidance and places most of the students in jobs. Needed general electives for other disciplines and special electives in recent trends in computer science are some of the special features. |
| Industrial and field visits are regularly conducted to motivate the students. Due to the technological advancement in the field of communication, the department keeps in constant touch with its alumni. Sponsored by Indian Association for Research in Computing Science (IARCS), a five-day instructional course on econcurrent systemsf was organized by the department in 2004. |
| One national conference on eSoftware Engineeringf by the department itself and another in collaboration with the mathematics department have been conducted and a third one, approved by AICTE, is slated for 2006-07. The annual features of the department include a department programme called eCommunef and an inter-collegiate programme called SHINE. An intercollegiate association called g Informatics Society for Rural Development (ISRD) is functioning in the department. |
